SUMMARY:AquaNor 2027
DESCRIPTION:Meet Sæplast at Aqua Nor 2027 in Trondheim\nAquaculture continues to grow\, but growth places greater demands on every part of the production system. Fish welfare\, harvesting capacity\, temperature control\, hygiene\, traceability\, labour requirements\, and efficient use of resources must all be managed without compromising product quality. \nThese challenges will be central to Aqua Nor 2027\, taking place from 24 to 26 August at Trondheim Spektrum in Norway. Since its establishment in 1979\, Aqua Nor has developed into the world’s largest exhibition dedicated to aquaculture technology. Recent editions have attracted approximately 25\,000 visitors from as many as 80 countries\, bringing together fish farmers\, seafood producers\, equipment suppliers\, researchers\, investors\, and technology providers from the global aquaculture sector. \nTechnology across the aquaculture value chain\nAqua Nor covers far more than farming equipment. The exhibition presents systems and services connected to breeding\, feed\, fish health\, biomass control\, cage technology\, vessels\, harvesting\, processing\, logistics\, and seafood handling. \nThe 2027 exhibition will extend across Trondheim Spektrum and the surrounding outdoor areas. Aqua Nor also provides an on-water exhibition close to the main venue\, allowing vessels\, cages\, feed barges\, and other floating installations to be demonstrated in the environment for which they were developed. \nThis combination makes Aqua Nor a practical place to compare technologies and examine how different parts of an aquaculture operation work together. It also creates opportunities to discuss the less visible equipment that connects harvesting\, processing\, storage\, and transport. \nProtecting quality after harvesting\nThe condition of farmed fish can change quickly once harvesting begins. Time\, temperature\, physical handling\, hygiene\, and the number of transfers between pieces of equipment can all influence the quality and value of the final product. \nReliable containers help establish greater control during these critical stages. They can be used to separate batches\, move chilled raw materials\, manage ingredients and by-products\, and transfer seafood safely between harvesting\, processing\, storage\, and dispatch. \nSæplast has more than four decades of experience developing equipment for demanding fish and seafood operations. This experience is reflected in products designed to perform in cold\, wet\, and physically demanding environments where strength\, hygiene\, and dependable handling are essential. \nInsulated containers for aquaculture and seafood handling\nSæplast tubs and insulated containers are developed for repeated industrial use. Their robust construction helps them withstand impacts\, forklift handling\, stacking\, washing\, and the demands of continuous daily operation. \nInsulation can help maintain more stable product temperatures and reduce ice melt during handling and storage. This is particularly valuable when harvested fish or temperature-sensitive materials must remain chilled while waiting for processing or transport. \nThe internal design of a container is equally important. Smooth\, non-porous surfaces and rounded corners make Sæplast containers easier to clean and sanitise. This supports effective hygiene routines and reduces the number of difficult areas where organic material can collect. \nDifferent sizes\, designs\, and handling configurations allow businesses to choose containers suited to their production volumes\, available floor space\, lifting equipment\, and logistical requirements. The right selection can improve product protection while making everyday handling more consistent. \nEquipment that supports the complete process\nAquaculture businesses rarely rely on a single container type. Hatcheries\, farms\, harvesting facilities\, wellboats\, processing plants\, and logistics providers can each have different requirements. \nSæplast provides a wider material-handling system that includes durable plastic pallets\, mobile food-processing buggies\, lids\, and accessories. These products can support organised movement between receiving\, grading\, processing\, packing\, cold storage\, and dispatch. \nStandardising equipment across different areas can simplify washing\, stacking\, storage\, and mechanical handling. It can also make it easier to train employees\, plan production layouts\, and manage equipment across multiple facilities. \nFor companies operating internationally or moving containers between farms\, processors\, and logistics partners\, Sæplast tracking solutions can provide greater visibility. RFID tags\, barcodes\, and QR codes can support container identification\, inventory management\, and traceability while helping reduce equipment losses. \nStrength designed for long-term use\nContainers used in aquaculture and seafood processing face repeated impacts\, heavy loads\, low temperatures\, frequent washing\, and exposure to demanding working conditions. Equipment that cracks or deforms prematurely creates more than a purchasing expense. It can interrupt workflows\, complicate cleaning\, and increase operational risk. \nSæplast containers are built to remain in service for many years. Their durability can reduce replacement frequency and provide stronger value over the full working life of the equipment. \nSuitable products can also be supported through professional repair services\, helping customers extend container life instead of replacing damaged equipment unnecessarily. At the end of a polyethylene container’s usable life\, it can be renewed or processed through Sæplast container recycling services\, subject to product condition and local availability. \nThis lifecycle approach allows aquaculture businesses to consider durability\, maintenance\, reuse\, and material recovery as connected parts of their equipment strategy. \nPractical conversations in Trondheim\nThe most valuable discussions at Aqua Nor often begin with a specific operational problem. A business may need to reduce ice consumption\, improve sanitation\, protect harvested fish from unnecessary pressure\, move products more efficiently\, or gain better control over a large container fleet. \nThe Sæplast team will be available to discuss these requirements and help visitors evaluate container capacities\, materials\, handling features\, insulation\, stacking\, cleaning\, and tracking options. The aim is to identify equipment that fits the operation\, protects product quality\, and delivers reliable performance over time. \nAttending Aqua Nor 2027?
